Abstract
The study aims to find out the circumstances that led to the establishment of the HMB in Iloilo province; to present the guiding principle underlying the HMB to describe the organizational structure of the HMB, its weaponry and military strategies; to determine the extent of its membership, identify its leadership; describe the dynamics of the HMB such as, recruitment, training, communications, food procurement, and other related activities; and find out the factors that caused its downfall.

This research employs historical-descriptive approach.

The study was able to bring into light the nature of the Hangaway nga Mangluluwas sang Banwa in Iloilo province and the causes of its downfall.

The hangaway nga Mangluluwas sang Banwa, being identical to Communist Party of the Philippines, was intentionally established by Guillermo Capadocia in Iloilo province and had the objectives of overthrowing the government of the Republic of the Philippines through force and violence, and establish a government of their own, dubbed as "New Democracy".

The foundation of the Hangaway nga Mangluluwas sang Banwa in Iloilo Province, unlike the HMB in Central Luzon, could be attributed to the socio-economic and political situation of the province before and right after the occupation/defeat of thee Japanese forces. Personal interests took a role on its establishment. Hence, it can be aid that, eventhough there was an undertaking to "ideologicalized" the members, the HMB was a movement embodied by a conglomeration of different personal interests and not of principles. And because of this and with the addition of military pressures coming from the government forces, the HMB was easily decimated.
