Abstract
Upon their arrival in the Philippines in 1906, the St. Josephs Missionaries for Foreign Missions were popularly called by the Filipinos as the Mill Hill Missionaries. They came to answer the Catholic's Church need for priests and missionaries because many parishes were left vacant after the Philippine Revolution. The Aglipayans and Protestants were also propagating their Faith in the Philippines during that time which cause some troubles to the Catholic Church.

The results of the study reveals that the Mill Hill Missionary Fathers who have served in Arevalo, Iloilo as parish priest differed in their backgrounds ranging from age, nationalities, years of service and special skills.

The Missionary Apostolate of the Mill Hill Society have two aspects: (1) serving the local Church and (2) evangelization and liberation of the people, especially from material poverty and injustices.

The St. Josephs Missionary Society provides for the personal needs of its members, such as board and lodging, retirement, travel and medical expenses. All the goods received through the sacred ministry and personal work of the members of the Society and all the donations, offerings, gifts, money, legacies, and so on, all belong to the common fund of the Mill Hill Society. During their stay in Arevalo, Iloilo the Mill Hill Fathers received a land donation from the Avancena family, where the existing Mill Hill Central House was built.

The pioneering Fathers were met with the problems on the adjustmentt with the people's culture and their hostile reaction among foreigners, their language and financial matters.

The works and contributions of the Mill Hill Fathers in Arevalo, Iloilo were mostly for the material and spiritual development of the people. Theis greates contribution is their success in spreading the Catholic religion to the Villahanons of Iloilo.
