Abstract
The study is an attempt to describe the socio-demographic profile/characteristics of wives of farming households; to determine which area(s) of household decision-making are wives involved; to determine the degree extent wives involvement in household decision-making whether they are greatly involved, involved or less involved; ad to determine the perceived reason(s) why they dominate certain area(s) in household decision-making. The study is limited only to the participation of married wives in Barangay Lus-onan, Panay, Capiz. The possible respondents were determined through conducting a pre-survey. Sixty three wives were found out to qualify from the criteria laid outt. By the use of a formula in getting the sample population, the researchers determined the number of respondents (39 was the required population interviewed). Interview schedule was the primary method in the conduct of data gathering. Show cards with a scale of 1-3 was used to find out the extent or degree of wives' involvement in decision-making.

The results of the study revealed that most of the respondents are between 35-54 years old have completed their elementary and high school education. Majority of them are Roman Catholics and belong to a household size with 4-6 members. Their primary source of income comes from lowland rice farming and animal raising is predominantly their secondary source of income.

In the areas of household decision-making, it was found out that wives' involvement is greatly dominant in areas of child-rearing and financial-economic activities. It is their responsibility to take care of the children, manage the household finances. The extent of wives involvement in egalitarian mode household decision-making can be concluded as equal to their husband.
